Archers are the premier ranged physical DPS in Lineage 2 — gear-hungry early, terrifying once fed. The line covers Sagittarius (Human), Moonlight Sentinel (Elf) and Ghost Sentinel (Dark Elf), each with slightly different flavour.
Why play an archer
- Top single-target damage from range.
- Kiting keeps you safe against melee.
- Dominant in mass PvP and sieges when protected.
Core skills
- Rapid Shot / Hawk Eye — passive/active accuracy and rate boosts; keep them up.
- Stun Shot & Sand Bomb — control to peel melee off you.
- Rapid Fire / Burst — your damage windows; use after you have created distance.
Gear
- Weapon: the highest-power bow you can get — archer damage scales hard with the bow.
- Armour: Light for evasion, speed and the mastery bonus.
- Jewels: attack-speed and accuracy focused.
Dyes
Archers want DEX (accuracy, crit, attack speed) and STR (raw damage). A common spread is +DEX with a STR top-up. Full per-class detail in the dyes guide.
PvP tactics
- Never stand still — kite in circles and shoot on the move.
- Open with a stun/root, create distance, then burst.
- Stay behind your tanks and healers in mass PvP; you are a priority target.
- Carry an alternate weapon for close range emergencies.

FAQ
Which race makes the best archer?
All three are strong; Elf (Moonlight Sentinel) leans survivability, Dark Elf (Ghost Sentinel) leans damage.
Light or heavy armour for archers?
Light — evasion, speed and the mastery bonus are exactly what an archer needs.
Are archers good for beginners?
They are powerful but gear-dependent; expect a slower start until your bow and dyes come online.
