Lineage 2 has dozens of classes, but they fall into a handful of roles. Here is the quick tour so you can pick one that matches how you like to play — then dive into a dedicated build guide.
Warriors & fighters
Frontline melee with high HP and steady damage. The Gladiator/Duelist (dual swords) and Warlord/Dreadnought (polearm AoE) are burst and crowd-clear kings. See our Gladiator guide.
Daggers (assassins)
Stealthy burst from behind — squishy but deadly. Great solo farmers and duelists. Read the Dagger guide.
Archers
Ranged physical damage with kiting. High single-target DPS, gear-hungry, incredibly strong when fed. One of the most popular PvP picks.
Tanks
Heavy armour, taunts and target control. Not top damage, but indispensable in sieges and organised PvP.
Mages (nukers)
Burst magic damage and AoE farming. Fragile but devastating once they have M.Atk gear and elemental attributes.
Healers & support
Bishops/Elders keep the party alive; Prophets/Wardens/Blade Dancers/Sword Singers buff. Always in demand — you will never struggle to find a party.
Summoners
Pet-based hybrids — flexible, strong solo, and great in PvP with tanky pets soaking damage.
Dwarves (crafters & spoilers)
The economy backbone: Spoilers farm materials, Artisans craft gear. Read the adena farming guide.
So which class?
- Solo / farm → Dagger, Summoner, Spoiler

Then pick a server and start levelling.
