Mages (nukers) deliver the biggest single hits in Lineage 2 and clear packs with AoE. The line covers Sorcerer (Human), Spellsinger (Elf) and Spellhowler (Dark Elf) — fragile, but devastating once they have M.Atk gear and elemental attributes.
Why play a nuker
- Massive burst damage — can delete squishy targets instantly.
- Best AoE farmers in the game (great for adena and XP).
- Scales incredibly hard with M.Atk gear and attributes.
Core skills
- Single-target nukes (e.g. Blaze/Hydro/Death Spike depending on element) — your main damage.
- AoE nukes (Aura Flare, Blaze/Hurricane AoE) — pull packs and farm.
- Cancel & debuffs — Spellhowlers especially bring strong PvP debuffs.
Gear & attributes
- Weapon: highest M.Atk weapon; add elemental attribute to your nukes (fire/water/etc.) — attributes hugely boost magic damage on High Five and later.
- Armour: Robe for the MP and casting bonuses.
- Jewels: M.Atk and casting-speed focused.
Dyes
Nukers want INT (magic damage) and some WIT (casting speed). A common spread is +INT with a WIT top-up. See the dyes guide for the exact per-class setup.
PvP & farming tactics
- Cast from max range and keep distance — you die fast if caught.
- Lead PvP with a cancel/debuff, then burst.
- For farming, pull big packs into a corner and AoE; bring a healer or tanky pet.

FAQ
What is the best nuker race?
All three work; Dark Elf (Spellhowler) leans PvP with debuffs, Elf (Spellsinger) leans utility, Human (Sorcerer) is a balanced nuker.
Do attributes matter for mages?
Enormously on High Five and later — elemental attribute on your weapon is one of the biggest magic-damage boosts available.
Are mages good solo?
Excellent for AoE farming, but fragile — keep a healer, buffs or a tanky pet nearby.
